Box Score Wyoming, MI – The Grace Bible College Tigers faced a tough test as they welcomed a talented Silver Lake College team to the Aldrich Athletic Center Thursday night.
The Tigers were outscored by the Lakers by 15 in the second period, resulting in a 47-32 deficit at the halftime break. They would come out of the gate in the second half with a run to trim the Lakers' lead to single digits. A three-point shot at the end of the period by freshman Megan George would cut the Lakers' lead to 58-52 headed into the final quarter of action. After an intense final 10 minutes of action, Silver Lake was able to make enough plays to hold the Tigers off for a 75-68 win. It was a much improved result for the Tigers from the first match-up earlier this year against the Lakers, as they fell by 23 points.
Megan George led the Tigers with a career high 26 points and a team-high 9 rebounds, followed by junior Jewel Ro with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. McKenzie McCord had 12 points and 7 assists.
Grace returns to their home floor Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm against regional rival and NCCAA DII #2 Kentucky Christian University.
