Women's basketball goes cold against #2 Pensacola Christian

Box Score

Kissimmee, FL – The #2 Pensacola Christian College Eagles proved themselves worthy of such a high ranking Thursday afternoon against the #5 Grace Christian University Tigers, prevailing 72-54 at the Johnson University Florida Classic.

The Tigers got off to a very slow start and were not able to recover, though they did make a solid run in the third quarter to trim their deficit to single digits on multiple occasions.

"The energy and effort was there, but the shots just didn't fall," commented Grace Head Coach CB Long.  "Pensacola is a very good team. Length, strength, and IQ. We played even except for the 48% from 3 for them, compared to 22% for us."

Freshman Bre Harris led the Tigers with 19 points, followed by Ashley Hoek with 8.

They are right back in action against the host school, Johnson University Florida, tonight at 6:00 pm.
