Tigers split games over weekend, back in action tonight at home

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Grace Christian University women's basketball team split games this weekend, with a win at Lake Michigan College on Friday night and an overtime loss to Kalamazoo College on their home floor Saturday afternoon.

Megan George was a huge part of kick-starting the win Friday, pouring in a staggering 17 first quarter points en route to a team-high 23 points in the 75-50 win.  Ashley Hoek recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Miranda Carlson came off the bench to provide 15 points and a team-high 4 assists.

Saturday's game was back and forth throughout, and an empty possession from the Tigers with an opportunity to win the game resulted in overtime with the Hornets of Kalamazoo College. The Tigers would be outscored 9-3 in the five minute overtime period and the Hornets ultimately prevailed 68-62.  Megan George led the Tigers again with 24 points, followed by Miranda Carlson with 14.  Ashley Hoek recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tigers, now 6-11 on the year, look to rebound from their loss tonight (Monday) at the Aldrich Athletic Center against Trinity International University at 5:00 pm.
