Grandville, MI – It was the first indoor home tennis match in program history over the weekend for both the Grace Christian University men's and women's tennis teams, with the Tigers welcoming Concordia University-Ann Arbor to town on Friday night. The two teams would compete hard in some back-and-forth matches that would last until past 10:00 pm at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
On the women's side,
Olivia Rachoy and
Amiah Lake recorded an 8-3 win for the Tigers in doubles and then went on to earn wins on the singles front as well, Lake defeating her opponent 6-3, 7-5, and Rachoy outscoring her opponent in a third set tie-breaker 10-6 for the win. The Tigers would go on to lose the match 6-3, though all other flights would record multiple game wins throughout the night.
The Cardinals of Concordia-Ann Arbor defeated the men's side 9-0. The four guys on the Tigers roster continue to show improvement, with a handful of games that went into deuce and just did not bounce the Tigers way when it was all said and done.
The Tigers have a short hiatus until their next match against Lourdes University, with the Grace men and women traveling to Sylvania, OH to face the NAIA Gray Wolves on Thursday, April 8.
