Tennis teams cap off 2021 season at Bethel University

Mishawaka, IN – The Grace men's and women's tennis teams concluded their abbreviated season Saturday afternoon at Bethel University. Both the men and women faced the host Pilots to start things off, and the men followed with a match against Manchester University to cap off the day.

The Tigers played well in every flight in their first match, but the NAIA Pilots proved to be too much for everyone other than Jared Lowder, who scored a victory at #1 singles in a very competitive match. Lowder finished the year 2-3 at #1, with the two wins being the most ever for a Tiger at the #1 flight. Mikyala Reynolds and Olivia Rachoy secured the most games on the women's side, with Rachoy putting together a comeback that fell just short in her second set.

"I'm so proud of our team and how we've closed out our final week of competition," commented Head Coach Cory Jamieson. "Both in Ohio and Indiana, I had opposing spectators stop and commend our players on their effort and how they displayed some of the highest class and best sportsmanship that they have seen."

The team will celebrate their season in the coming weeks with a banquet/picnic and team awards ceremony.
