SCHEDULE | ROSTER
The official 2021-22 schedule and roster for Grace Christian University women's basketball has been released as they enter into their first full practices of the season this week. Head Coach Ashley Vang and the coaching staff are eager to get going and attempt to pick up where they left off, after finishing strong last March with a Regional Championship and NCCAA DII Final Four appearance.
Coach Vang briefly touched base on what she saw in the offseason from her group and her high hopes for how the incoming players will gel with the returning core.
"It was a productive off-season for our Women's Basketball program as we came off our Final Four run last March. We are excited to bring back 7 returners who have been crucial to re-building who we are as a program. Our players continue to improve each week and their determination and commitment to this program will bring us success on the court and off the court. Adding to our 7 strong returners, are 4 incredible freshmen who will contribute in numerous ways as we begin a new year. The comradery already built between this very special group, will bring success to us on and off the court."
The schedule for the Tigers consists of 12 home games, and a host of talented opponents, including exhibitions against NCAA DI Eastern Michigan University and NCAA DII Ferris State University. The furthest the Tigers travel is to Pensacola, FL, for a couple games in the middle of the month of January.
Coach Vang commented on the upcoming schedule for the Tigers for 2021-22.
"As usual, we have a tough schedule that consists of games that will be competitive on all levels. These are games that will challenge us to grow stronger and smarter so that we will be ready to compete in our postseason. This year's theme for WBB is "RELENTLESS," and No matter who the opponent is, or the adversity that comes our way, we will rise up, and push through together. We are looking forward to seeing our Tiger Fans in the stands this season again and hope to see you all at our Home Opener vs. regional foe Welch College on Saturday 11/6 at 11am."
