Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian softball team concluded it's second ever season this spring, and continued to make big progress. In their first year, 2024, the team finished with a record of 8-21, while this year in 2025, they brought that record up to 13-20. 

"From year one to year two of the program, Grace softball took a giant leap forward in 2024-25," Head Coach Jeremy Clark stated. "That was not only reflected in the win total going from 8 to 13, but the significant contributions of players up and down the lineup. Last fall, we set several team goals and were right around the mark for almost all of them." 

The girls achieved some strong wins this year including two doubleheader sweeps over Berea College (NCAA DIII), and The University of Olivet (NCAA DIII). The team also finished 5-0 against NCCAA foe Maranatha Baptist University, as well as 2-0 against Alpena Community College, who they had lost to in the 2024 campaign. 

"The players held themselves to higher standard in year two and they met the challenge. It was encouraging to see how the incoming freshmen contributed immediately to team success," said Clark.

The girls hit some milestones statistically as well, having two players achieve 1st Team All-Region honors, Kaliann Newberry and Morgan Hall, each collecting over 40 hits on the year and batting over .400. The team as a whole batted .337 with an OBP of .417 respectively. 
 
The team continues to build on a firm foundation as Coach Clark is doing a great job developing the players he has, and also bringing in fresh talent year to year. 

"For the 2025-26 season, we have quality class coming in which will help us build as we look forward to getting Team 3 on the field in the fall!" says Clark.
