Hall of Fame
Kenny VanRyn's name pops up numerous times in the Grace record books, most notably with an astonishing 798 career assists, which is over 200 more than anyone else has ever recorded in Grace history. Not only did VanRyn distribute the 'rock,' but he also did his fair share of scoring, totaling 1,807 career points (5th All-Time). He earned 1st Team All-American honors in 2004 and received honorable mention in 2005 and 2006.
VanRyn led the Tigers to their first ever outright NCCAA DII National Championship in 2006 (the Tigers previously won two DII-A titles in the mid-90's). He was instrumental in the team's memorable tournament run, receiving the Most Valuable Player award at the National Tournament.
Currently, Kenny is living in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife Bree and kids Truman and Beverly. He serves as the Student Ministries Director at Two Rivers Church. In between his playing career and his current role, Kenny spent a lot of time training and coaching the game of basketball.
"I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to play college basketball at GBC, to compete with the teammates I had and ultimately accomplish our goal of winning a national championship," said VanRyn. "I'm thankful to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it wouldn't be possible without my teammates and coaches. I want to thank them for being who they are and what they mean to me."
