In 1992 Mike received the Frank Vanderlaan Award as the top male athlete at Grace.  Voted the team's MVP three times, Mike was an outstanding goalie for the Tigers and led them to three NCCAA II Regional titles.  His ten shutouts as a goalie is still a record.  Mike was selected as an NCCAA All Region player all four years at GBC.  Selected three times as an NCCAA II All-American, he is the only soccer player in GBC history to attain that honor.     

Mike also played basketball and was voted the teams MVP his senior year.     

After graduation Mike went on to coach soccer for five years for GBC.  He was selected by his peers as the Regional Coach of the Year three times.  The Tigers won three NCCAA II regional titles those years.
