Grace women win 6-0 at home

Wyoming, MI - The Grace women's soccer team faced off with NCAA DIII Mount Mary University Friday night at Velting Field, and they were able to come away with a 6-0 victory in front of the home crowd.

Senior Debbie Pekel scored twice in the 1st half and again early in the 2nd to lead GBC to the convincing win. Defender Alex Pelley added 2 goals while freshman Maddie Brown netted the final goal.  All 21 players that dressed saw action. Grace improves to 6-4, while Mount Mary fell to 4-5 on the season. Megan McFarland earned the shutout, making 2 saves. Grace looks forward to busy week with a 4 PM in Berrien Springs vs Andrews University, then a 1pm game Friday vs Hiwassee college in Tennessee. On Saturday the lady tigers will play Berea in Kentucky at 1 PM.

"This was a good game for us, we moved the ball well and kept the pressure on them," commente Head Coach Scott Teesdale.  " I really liked the defending from our forwards and midfielders, which helped create a lot of chances."
