Women's soccer wins first ever regional championship

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Phoenixville, PA – Just 6 years ago, the Grace athletics department decided to bring back a women's soccer program.  Since then the program has been built into a serious contender, and now the Grace Bible College women's soccer team will be headed to Kissimmee, Florida a week from now, as they solidified their first ever bid to the NCCAA DII National Tournament with their first regional title in school history this past weekend!

The Tigers coasted to victory in the semifinal game against the University of Valley Forge Friday, winning 9-0, and then in the finals against Johnson University (TN), winning 10-0.

"From the beginning of the season we have had our focus on this weekend and I think we came out and played great soccer both days," commented Head Coach Scott Teesdale.  "I am so happy for the team and what they accomplished and we are looking forward to our trip to Florida and the games down there."

Senior Debbie Pekel had a hat-trick on Friday and freshman Maddie Brown followed up with a hat-trick on Saturday to lead the Tigers in scoring for the weekend.  The National Tournament will take place November 16-19, and will be at the same location as the Grace men's soccer team, who also qualified for Nationals this past weekend.  Stay tuned for more information.
