Wyoming, MI – The Grace women's basketball team welcomed NCCAA #3 Kentucky Christian University to town Saturday afternoon in their final home game of the season, scoring an impressive 73-54 win over the Lady Knights in front of a great crowd at the Aldrich Athletic Center. The ladies jumped out to an 18 - 12 lead at the end of the first quarter. They continued their hot shooting in the second quarter and built up a 38 - 24 half time lead. The Tigers shot 51% from the floor and 35% from the 3 point line while Kentucky shot 35% from the floor and 22% from the 3 point line.
"The seniors played very well," said Grace Head Coach Rich Renzema. "It was a great way to end their games on the home court."
Abby Schultz (SR/Holland Calvary HS) matched her average for the season with 19 points, 13 coming in the second half. Point guard McKenzie McCord (SO/Cadillac HS) contributed 15 points, including 4-4 shooting from the free throw line. Jewel Ro (FR/Hudsonville HS) added 12 points and dished out 6 assists compared to 0 turnovers. Anna Iwaniw (SR/Kent City HS) posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Amy Leszinske (JR/Ravenna HS) flirted with a double-double with 9 and 8.
The Tigers look to try building their current win streak to 7 this upcoming Tuesday at Great Lakes Christian College.
