Lady Tigers battle hard, fall to Aquinas 2-0

Alicia Contreras attempts to win the ball
Box Score Wyoming, MI - The Lady Tigers soccer team was presented quite the challenge Wednesday evening, as the Aquinas College Saints traveled across town to Velting Field.  The atmosphere was electric, as kick-off day on the campus of Grace Bible College contributed to arguably the largest crowd ever to enter the stadium.

The game would stay knotted at 0-0 until the Saints found the net at the 22 minute mark and then again at the 34 minute mark in the first half.  After some stellar defense by both sides for the rest of the game, the final would finish Aquinas 2, Grace 0.

Freshman goalkeeper Megan McFarland was spectacular in the goal the Tigers, recording 18 saves in her first start in the net.  Freshman Maddie Brown and sophomore Alex Pelley each recorded a shot on goal for the Tigers.

The ladies will return to the field for another very tough game at Davenport University next Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
