Lady Tigers fall at home to Cleary, 2-1

Box Score
Wyoming, MI – Cleary University has been somewhat of a rival for the Grace Tigers women's soccer program since the 2013 season, with competitive games year after year.  The game played at Velting Field Tuesday afternoon was no different, as the intensity would last until the final seconds.

Cleary would take a 1-0 lead into the half, as the Tigers were able to put a couple shots on goal in the first 45, but could not punch one past the Cougar keeper.  The Cougars would extend their lead to 2-0 in the second half before freshman Brandy Weaver chipped in a beautiful goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining in the game.  For the rest of the game, Cleary would have some missed opportunities for an insurance goal and Grace had some missed opportunities for an equalizer – all in all making it a very exciting finish, but an unfortunate 2-1 loss for the Tigers.

The ladies travel to Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
