Box Score
Wyoming, MI – Down by two with 3.8 seconds on the clock, senior
Jared Bradford shed one defender with a behind-the-back dribble and knocked down a running 3-point shot off the glass to give the Tigers a 67-66 victory over Andrews University. Grace celebrated their seventh straight win as the Aldrich Athletic Center erupted when the shot made its way through the net.
Junior
Bernard Smith was a huge part of keeping the Tigers in the game in the second half, finishing with 16 points, 19 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Freshmen
Brandon Winchester-Jones and
Adam Kregel both came up big off the bench with 11 points and three triples apiece.
Bradford finished with 8 points on 3-10 shooting, and he was quick to credit his team for their efforts during the game to pick up the scoring load that he often provides.
"Some of our younger guys like Brandon (Winchester-Jones) and (Adam) Kregel stepped up and hit some big shots for us. That's what we needed. It's a team effort, and I'm proud of those guys."
Even with Bradford's lackluster shooting game up until the final play, most of the gym knew who the Tigers would call on for the final play, and sure enough, the senior guard came through.
The Tigers move to 14-9 on the season, 6-1 on their home floor. They will face Simmons College (KY) Saturday night at 6:00 pm in the Aldrich Athletic Center.
