Box Score 2 Grayson, KY – For the second straight weekend, the Grace women's soccer team had a two-game road trip and returned home with two wins. The Tigers scored an impressive 4-1 road victory over regional rival Kentucky Christian University Friday. They would storm out to a 3-0 lead at the halftime break, and they never looked back.
Sophomores
Maddie Brown and
Brandy Weaver, who have both been scoring goals at a high rate this season thus far, each recorded two more goals for the Tigers Friday to lead them to the win.
Grace did not have much recovery time, as they faced Johnson University-Tennessee Saturday morning at 11:00 am on Kentucky Christian's turf field. Brown would score for the Tigers in the second minute of the game, and that would end up being the winning goal, as both defenses held strong for the final 88 minutes. The 1-0 victory moves the Tigers to 7-3-1 on the season.
"This was a good weekend for us," commented Head Coach
Scott Teesdale. "We played two tough matches and were able to win them both. Our defense was in great form and we really limited the scoring chances. Alex (Pelley), Elie (Befus), Kiley (Fawley), and Stella (Follett) all stood out this weekend."
Grace will return to the field to face Cleary University at Velting Field Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
