Box Score Wyoming, MI - The Lady Tigers recorded their first home victory of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Calumet College of St. Joseph (NAIA) 74-62.
After holding a comfortable lead for a majority of the game, the Crimson Wave trimmed the Tigers' lead all the way to 51-50 headed into the fourth quarter of play. The Lady Tigers would make the necessary adjustments to outscore their opponent by 11 points in the final 10 minutes and come away with the win.
Sophomore Miranda Carlson and freshman Megan George led the Tigers with 21 and 19 points, respectively. Carlson knocked down 5 three point field goals, while George knocked down 3. Senior McKenzie McCord stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Junior Jewel Ro also had a solid overall game with 11 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Freshman Ashley Glass provided a nice spark off the bench, as she was a perfect 3-3 from the field for 7 points.
The Lady Tigers will return to action next Thursday at Kentucky Christian University, where they will play three games over the weekend against NCCAA DII Mideast regional opponents.
