Box Score 2 Grayson, KY - The Tigers finished the weekend 2-1 at Kentucky Christian University. They defeated the host Knights on Thursday night, fell to Johnson University (TN) on Friday, and finished things off with a win in their first ever match-up against Carolina Christian College. Johnson University-Tennessee 86, Grace 82
Junior Ethan Kafila's career-high 21 points was not enough for the Tigers in a slim setback against the Royals of Johnson University. Grace seemed to be in control of the game for the entire first half and carried a double-digit lead until the 13 minute mark of the second half, but the Royals caught fire in the late stages of the game to storm back for the win. The Tigers shot 6-28 from the 3-point line, compared to 15-33 for the Royals.
Junior Grant Garrison filled the stat sheet with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Sophomore Adam Kregel recorded a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds, and sophomore Brandon Winchester-Jones added 16 points and 6 assists.
Grace 84, Carolina Christian College 77
The Tigers built an early lead and never looked back in their first ever match-up against the Carolina Christian Centurions. Depth was key for Grace, as they had a 50-2 advantage on the game in bench scoring.
Sophomore Adam Kregel scored a career-high 17 points and senior Adam Rayner pitched in 17 as well to lead the Tigers. Rayner completed his third double-double of the year with a team-high 10 rebounds. Freshman Hunter Greer scored 16 to round out the Tigers in double-figures.
The Tigers move to 6-7 on the year headed into a big match-up in Holland on Tuesday night against Hope College at 7:00 pm.
