Shorthanded Lady Tigers fall twice in Wisconsin

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

A shorthanded Lady Tigers team fell in two games this weekend in Wisconsin.  Grace moves to 3-6 on the season.  See the box scores and recaps for each game below.

Silver Lake 71, Grace Bible 48

Though the game remained tight for the first half, the Silver Lake College Lakers pulled away from the Grace Lady Tigers in the third quarter and would tack on to their lead in the fourth to close out the 23-point victory.  The size disadvantage was very evident, as the Lakers outrebounded the Tigers 54-29.

Senior McKenzie McCord led the Tigers with 19 points and 8 rebounds.  Freshman Meagan George was the only other Lady Tiger in double figures with 10 points.

Mount Mary University 58, Grace Bible 52

Junior Jewel Ro's 24 points was not enough to lift the Lady Tigers above the Mount Mary University Blue Angels Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game would be neck-and-neck throughout, but Mount Mary took a three-point lead late and knocked down free throws to ice the game.  Senior McKenzie McCord led the Tigers with 8 assists, while senior Meagan Pifer pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds.

"It's tough to overcome the injuries to Mallory (Hinken) and Miranda (Carlson)," commented Head Coach Rich Renzema.  "We were also stone cold from the floor in both games, which did not help."

The Lady Tigers return to the floor this Saturday at home against Olivet College at 1:00 pm.
