Despite striking first, Tigers fall 3-1 to Aquinas

Box Score Grand Rapids, MI – Sophomore Maddie Brown put the Tigers up 1-0 early in last night's opening soccer game for the Tigers over local powerhouse Aquinas College.  Sophomore Haley Threatt was credited with the assist.  The Saints would then equalize and then go on to take the lead and never look back, coming away with a 3-1 win.  Freshman Regan Befus had 6 saves in her first game in the goal for Grace.

"We played great and it was really exciting to score first," commented Head Coach Scott Teesdale.

The end result was the best in program history for the Tigers against Aquinas College, with Brown's goal being the first ever against the tough Grand Rapids NAIA opponent.  The Tigers are back in action today at their home field against Holy Cross College, another NAIA opponent, at 5:00 pm.
