Box Score Berrien Springs, MI – Tuesday afternoon the Grace women's soccer team found out that they had been ranked #1 in the NCCAA for the first time in school history right as they left to face opponent Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. The Tigers followed up with a performance worthy of the ranking, defeating the Cardinals 11-0 on the road.
"We've played 5 close matches against tough teams to start the season. Tonight we got ahead early and were able to give extended playing time to our reserves," commented Head Coach
Scott Teesdale. "We have some new players and it was nice to give them game experience."
Sophomores
Brandy Weaver and
Maddie Brown led the charge with 4 and 3 goals, respectively.
Elenrae Befus,
Haley Threatt,
Hazel Goff, and
Renee Sischo all score one goal each.
The NCCAA #1 Tigers move to 3-2-1 on the season and will face Earlham College (IN) next Tuesday at 2:00 pm at home.
