Grayson, KY - The Grace men's basketball team played a near-flawless game in a 109-68 rout of Johnson University-Tennessee Saturday afternoon in the 2018 NCCAA DII Mideast Region championship game. This is the fifth straight regional banner for the Tigers and Head Coach
Gary Bailey, and the game was never in doubt. Grace would take a 26-point lead into the halftime break and continue to build that lead until the finish, knocking down a staggering 21-32 shots from beyond the three-point arc (12-15 in 2nd half), a Grace All-Time record.
Junior
Grant Garrison followed up a great semifinal game with an even better game in the final, scoring a career-high 28 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Senior
Adam Rayner also recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 boards.Â
Brandon Winchester-Jones had a team-high 6 assists. Garrison was named the tournament MVP, while Winchester-Jones received All-Tournament team honors.
The Tigers seem to be peaking at the right time, showing vast improvement from a loss back in December against the Royals in the same gymnasium. Before the game, the Royals were ranked #3 in the NCCAA DII and #1 in the region. The Tigers, currently #4 in the NCCAA DII, will receive an automatic bid to the NCCAA DII National Tournament in Greenville, SC on March 7-10.
