Box Score Louisville, KY - After falling to Spring Arbor University Friday night, the Grace Christian University Tigers had a quick turnaround and escaped with a win Saturday afternoon over Boyce College on the road to finish the weekend 1-1.
Grace struggled on the offensive end Friday night, falling 84-60 to the 2019 NAIA National Champion Spring Arbor. Saturday they would find their groove on that end of the floor, tripling their assist output from 6 Friday to 18 Saturday as a team. The Bulldogs put up a great fight until the final seconds of the game, but the Tigers held on in the end for an 84-81 win.
After the Tigers held an eight-point lead late in the game Saturday, the Bulldogs stormed back with an 8-0 run to ties things up at 81-81 with less than 30 seconds remaining. Junior
Kellum Bridgeforth drove hard to the basket on the next possession and made a circus finish while drawing a foul, and the subsequent free throw gave the Tigers an 84-81 lead. A three-point shot from the Bulldogs rimmed out as the buzzer sounded to give the Tigers the victory.
Kierson Watts led the way for the Tigers on Saturday with 20 points on 8-10 shooting and 9 rebounds. Bridgeforth followed with 16 points and 5 assists. Also worth noting,
