Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 Winona Lake, IN - The Tigers finished the weekend with two close losses that are tough to swallow, as they were just a couple possessions away from finishing the weekend undefeated. See the details and box scores from each game below.
Grace College 83, Grace Bible 76
The Grace Bible College Tigers led for a majority of the game Friday night in the battle of the Grace's, but costly turnovers and a huge run by the Grace College Lancers from the 10 to 6 minute mark in the second half would ultimately be the deciding factor in a 83-76 setback for the Tigers.
After the wretched four-minute stretch, the Tigers saw a 5-point advantage quickly to into a 10 point deficit. A much needed run for the Tigers would trim the deficit to three points at 70-67 with a couple minutes remaining in the game, but they could not hit the big shots needed at the end of the game.
Freshman Hunter Greer led the Tigers with 16 points on 5-6 shooting. Sophomore Brandon Winchester-Jones scored 12 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Huntington University 79, Grace Bible 71 (OT)
The Tigers would follow up on Saturday afternoon with another tough match-up against an NAIA team from the state of Indiana, Huntington University.
After a slow start and falling behind by nine late in the first half, the Tigers would chip away at the Foresters' lead and ultimately take control of the game for a good portion of the second half. Leading by three points and with possession with the ball with 50 seconds remaining in the game, things were looking like the Tigers would finish the weekend 1-1. They would go empty on the possession and the Foresters would subsequently come down and knock down a three-point shot to tie the game. Brandon Winchester-Jones' lay-up to win the game would roll around the rim and just fall off, resulting in overtime (

Winchester-Jones finished with a team-high 19 points, followed by senior Adam Rayner who had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Adam Kregel and Grant Garrison had 12 points each.
