Holland, MI – The Hope College Flying Dutchmen prevailed 88-74 over the Grace Tigers on their DeVos Fieldhouse home floor Tuesday night.

A solid defensive stretch to begin the game resulted in the Tigers leading 18-15 with 8:00 remaining in the first half.  Grace would then suffer a 28-12 run from the Flying Dutchmen throughout the rest of the half before junior Marcus Chandler stopped the bleeding at the buzzer, sinking a contested three-point shot to go into halftime down 43-33.

The Tigers would immediately trim Hope's lead to single digits and they would continue to battle for the first five minutes of the second half, ultimately trimming the lead to five points.  Hope would then catch fire and score 30 points over the next 8 minutes of play and Grace would not fully recover, resulting in the 14 point loss.

Allowing 18 offensive rebounds and 24 turnovers was detrimental for the Tigers in a road atmosphere that is already very tough to score a victory in.  They allowed 29 points off turnovers and 14 second chance points on the game.

Sophomore Brandon Winchester-Jones scored 19 points to lead the Tigers and junior Ethan Kafila pitched in 16.  The Tiger bench outscored the Flying Dutchmen's 31-20, with efficient contribution from Deandre Metcalf (2-2 FG, 7 points), Montae Harris (3-3 FG, 6 points), and Keoante Blackamore (3-5 FG, 7 points).

The Tigers move to 6-8 on the year and head into a two-week hiatus before returning their home floor on December 19 against Madonna University (NAIA DII).  This will be the Tigers first home game since their opener on October 24 vs. Spring Arbor.
