Wyoming, MI - The atmosphere was electric Friday afternoon as the Grace Bible men's basketball team faced Kentucky Christian University in the Mideast regional semis. After a very competitive first half, Grace would pull away for an 89-62 victory in their home gym, earning them a birth in Saturday afternoon's final game. The win also marks 16 straight for the Tigers.
Junior
Bernard Smith led the Tigers by completing a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Jared Bradford dished out a team-high 6 assists.
"We started off slow tonight, but our bench really came through for us and provided the spark we needed," commented Head Coach
Gary Bailey.
Bench play was a huge contributing factor in the game, with the Tigers outscoring Kentucky a staggering 42-2.
Caleb Anderson and
Adam Kregel both provided some significant firepower for the Tigers, combining for 6-7 shooting from the three point line and 26 points.
Grace moves on to the Mideast Regional Championship tomorrow at 4:00 pm at the Aldrich Athletic Center, facing the winner of the 8 pm game between Boyce College and the University of Valley Forge.
