Rayner shines in win over Great Lakes

Box Score

Lansing, MI – The Grace Tigers benefited from their huge size advantage on the road Tuesday night at Great Lakes Christian College, defeating the Crusaders 91-80.  Grace's inside-out game worked very well for them offensively, as senior center Adam Rayner scored 28 points on 11-12 shooting from the paint, and as a team they would finish the game 11-22 (50%) from beyond the arc.  Overall, the Tigers shot an efficient 64.2% and outrebounded Great Lakes 37-18 to overcome 17 turnovers and a dismal 57% team clip from the free throw line.  The Crusaders also were able to knock down 18 three-point shots to keep the Tigers from running away with the game entirely.

Rayner added a team-high 14 rebounds and 2 blocks in his best statistical game of his career.  Junior Grant Garrison added 18 points and 8 rebounds, while junior Caleb Anderson knocked down 4-4 shots for 12 points.

"Great Lakes could be a really dangerous team come the regional tournament with their athletic ability and ability to shoot the three," commented Head Coach Gary Bailey.  "It was nice to pull out the win in a tough road atmosphere on their senior night."

Grace, now 13-15 on the season, returns to the floor next Tuesday at home against Andrews University at 7:00 pm.  They will then close out their regular season with senior night next Friday night at home against Wright State University-Lake Campus at 7:00 pm.
