Grand Rapids, MI – Tiger seniors Adam Rayner and Montae Harris have followed up their final seasons in a Grace uniform by making the leap to the professional ranks this Spring in competition with the NABL's Grand Rapids Danger. The Danger, owned by former Grace All-American Allen Durham, have now been in existence since 2015.
This year's Danger team consists of mostly local talent from the NCAA DII, NAIA, and the NCCAA. They currently sit at 4-2 coming off of a tough 103-94 road loss to the Tuscaloosa Titans on April 19th in Alabama.
"Playing for the Danger has been a very cool experience," commented Harris. "I'm very thankful to Al (Durham) for the opportunity. It has helped me grow not only as a player but as a person. The game is very fast paced and I'm excited to see where it takes me in the future."
Rayner, an All-Region honorable-mention performer as a senior for the Tigers, spoke on the difference between the college and professional game.
"You're playing with and against some of the best players. The speed of the game is faster and it relies more on execution. You have to be in the right sports and the right time in order to be successful, but there are times when you have to create for yourself as well."
After a 147-104 win over Detroit's Team Network on April 29th, Rayner earned Player of the Game honors after a 20 point performance.
The Danger will play at Kuyper College on May 26th against the Flint Chargers at 6:00 pm, taking a hiatus from using the Aldrich Athletic Center as their home court during renovations.
