Box Score 2 Honolulu, HI - The Grace Christian Men's Basketball team spent their Thanksgiving weekend in the Aloha State of Hawaii this year as they competed in the Hoops in Hawaii Classic. The Tigers' first match up was an exhibition game on Friday against Hawaii Pacific University (4-3).
In an intense back and forth battle, Grace found themselves trailing by two at the half. A strong second half allowed Hawaii Pacific to pull ahead, outrebounding the Tigers 52-22, and claiming an 89-83 victory.
Bankeys Omari led the squad with 16 points, while
Gavin Fisher added 14.
On Saturday Grace faced a much tougher opponent, Chaminade University (5-1). The Tigers fell 61-105 as they closed out their trip to paradise. Omari finished with 15 points and
Aiden Burns scored 10.
The Grace Christian Men's Basketball team returns to the snowy Midwest this week and will take on Andrews University on Thursday at 8pm.
