Wyoming, MI - After a gap year, a 2024 recruit of Coach
Dustin Buchanan's, Gavin MacTavish has committed in the 25' class. Gavin is the son of Shannon Beardsley and Nick MacTavish and brother to Graclyn. Gavin was a standout for his high school, Cedar Springs High School, where he was twice named All-Conference, twice All-District and Golden Boot Winner. He helped the Redhawks to a district championship in his senior year. Gavin grew up playing with CASSA, and recently transitioned to PASS FC where he currently plays his club soccer. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. Â
"Like a lot of Coach Matt Johnsons' players, Gavin was on my radar long before the actual recruiting process started. He comes after a gap year as originally a 2024 recruit," stated Coach Buchanan. "I am very thankful for the continued recruitment even during this time with him. I am encouraged that he has found a program here at Grace Christian University that he is very excited for in addition to playing soccer. Gavin, who is a bit more reserved off the field, really expresses himself much louder on the field. He's a player who has pace, technical ability. One that is strong in the wide areas and others. I've really liked how integrated Gavin already is with our team since his signing."
"I look forward to meeting everyone on the team and I am very excited for my freshman season this fall," commented Gavin.
Gavin will wear the #18 Kit for the Tigers.Â
