Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian University Men's Soccer team is ready to kick off their 2025 season after coming off another incredible run last year. The Tigers have won three consecutive regional titles and are looking to continue their success heading into the 2025 season. The Tigers concluded their 2024 season with an 11-8-3 record including a 3-1 win over Kansas Christian University in the NCCAA National Tournament.
The Tigers will open their 2025 season on August 27th on the road in Gary, IN where they will take on the Redhawks of Indiana University Northwest. August 30th they will play their home opener at Velting Field against Calumet College of St. Joseph. Other big home games for the Tigers include NCCAA matchups against Kuyper College and Great Lakes Christian College in October.
The Tigers lost their leading goal scorer from last season in
Nathan Davis, but have several notable returners including senior defender,
Logan Erickson, sophomore midfielder,
Jacobo Ariza (led the team in assists last year), and sophomore forward
Paul Ureel (scored the second most goals for the Tigers last season). These returners were all key players in the success of last year's regional championship. The Tigers are also excited about incoming freshman goalkeepers
Elijah Scott, and
Logan Werschem to give a stable presence in net.
"I am really excited to see these guys compete this year and for the returners to build on the success they had last year," said Head Coach,
Dustin Buchanan.
